About our Vintage Hearse
Many people inquire about our hearses and their individual histories. Here is a little info about each of them. Stacy Marie, our oldest funeral coach spent approximately 25 years in the funeral industry. She has taken about 2,000 people on their final ride to their eternal resting place. She is a 1975 S&S Cadillac funeral coach…less than 200 made that year. She was ordered new by her original owner and worked for him up until 1982 when a tragic accident involving the hearse and his daughter took place. The owner, grief stricken sold his mortuary and the hearse to another funeral home.We now believe that “Stacy Marie” so named after the former owners daughter, is very much haunted by the spirit of the little girl who lost her life under the wheels of this 8,000 lb funeral car! The ghost of the little girl has been seen in the rear of the funeral coach by tour groups as well as our tour guides. Unexplained happenings such as voices,dark shadows, and strange lights as well as high EMF readings have been reported with this coach.For whatever reason sometimes the departed seem to attach themselves to objects and remain with them. In this case Stacy Marie remains with our hearse to this day, and delights in making herself known to many of the passengers who ride along on our freightful tours!
“Morticia” as she is affectionately known is a 1989 Lincoln hearse built by Demers of Canada. This is a very rare funeral coach…one of only a handful ever built, and one of just a few in existance today! She was always a “first Call” hearse meaning she was used to pick up the pre-embalmed bodies from hospitals, homes, accidents, as well as transporting the freshly departed to the crematory for final service there. Morticia hails from a nearby state .There is a very troubled past associated with this death car we will be glad to share with you and your fellow tour patrons, should you dare to ride along. Rest assured,or at least try to, this Coach is alive and well with the troubled spirits that continue to ride along each night on our tours!!
Our funeral coaches are real funeral cars that have been slightly altered to accommodate the living, and to serve the purpose of “providing your next to the last ride” in a hearse.
